Lately this has become a favorite song. Every time it comes across my pandora stream (usually when I am working out) it makes me happy. It is just a happy, high-energy song, and that's why I like it:
For several years, a dancer and comedian named Demi Adejuyigbe made videos based on snippets from the song. The idea was for people to donate money to his chosen charity as a thanks for the video. He quit after 2021, partly because he got to the point where he couldn't top the previous year's, but also, if I'm reading between the lines correctly in this interview he got down enough about the state of the world that it just seemed hard.
But yeah. Those are a lot of work and a lot of expense (a rotating room in one, like they used in that one Astaire movie) and I really wonder how much help the various charities saw. (And yes, I understand feeling down about the state of the world; just this morning I was noting that I am just very discouraged these days because it feels as if nothing I can do makes anything better).
