First up, the socks that I've been working on. Not very far on the second one. The yarn is a *very* long repeat and it's the first time I've knit with this one so I'm not trying to make them match; I didn't want to risk running short of yarn
And this is the start of the multidirectional diagonal scarf (version something like fifteen - I really have made a lot of these). I don't have an enormous amount of yarn so I am making it narrower, about 6" (about 400 yards of a chunky weight, and heavier weight yarns often require more yardage).
I like how it's working up so far. You can see that the short repeat shows up well in the wedges. (I have the first triangle done, and part of the first full wedge)
the locking marker (the little orange thing) is to remind me which is the "right side" - it's not immediately obvious and I did that to make it easier for me to remember.

I did go to the quilt show today. It was small but nice. I went to a program on repairing damaged vintage quilts (which was mainly a product demonstration of basically a powdered heat-set fusing material) but I also looked at all the quilts - some were very nice, some were not to my taste (colors or design) but I knew that the person who made them or the person they were made for loved them so I am not critical of them.
There were only a few vendors; I think that for the more distant shops the previous show wasn't profitable. I did learn of the existence of a new-to-me shop about 10 miles to the north; maybe some day I check if they're open and go up there.
It would have been more fun to find someone to go with me but as I said, I don't currently know anyone else who quilts well enough to ask them. There were a few mildly familiar names on some of the quilts but either they were people I'd only met once or twice, or were spouses of people I slightly knew from the university.
I can go back "for free" tomorrow if I want (the entry fee covers both days) but I need to go to the grocery and I should mow the lawn first thing tomorrow if it's not storming. I'll have to look and see if there are any programs I might want to see at a time when I'm free.
