Leaving these here

There are *more* National Park Service crochet patterns. I like this. It delights me that there's some NPS employee or enthusiast somewhere coming up with these.

The one that grabbed my attention first was the Triops - which is a type of freshwater shrimp, sometimes called a "dinosaur shrimp" because it shows a lot of ancestral characters. I want to make one some time just for kicks and grins.

a while back I made the walleye.

There's also a halibut now. It's a flatfish, so in a way it's like Regular-Sized Rudy's (from Bob's Burgers) stuffed pal Pancake. (Hm. Maybe my walleye needs a friend)

I hope they do more critters, the whole idea of this is just delightful to me. Actually, I hope they do more NPS themed patterns even if they're not critters. I'm a big park nerd and it makes me happy to be able to create my own "souvenirs" this way.  (The only bumper-sticker-adjacent thing I have on my car is a sticker in the rear window that says "Love and protect your parks")

There's also a bolster-style "lava flow" pillow. (If my dad were still around, that would have been an ideal thing to make for him, since he was a geologist).
