Hopefully by now Anj has her box and has opened it. (Embargoed post here)
I didn't photograph everything - I often do this now with parcels I send, I remember back in 2020 when my sister in law's and niece's Christmas gifts went missing for over a month and I was afraid I'd not get ANY of the insurance money for them for "lack of proof" (luckily, they were eventually delivered to them).
I did include other items - there was a fat quarter of fabric, and a cat pizza cutter, and a little Japanese condiment dish with a cat on it, and a couple mini pouches, and I included the unfortunate items from the "lucky crate" that Doki Doki decided to send instead of a REAL March box (there was a "spicy" ramen bowl, and some kind of mystery oatmeal thing, and a packet of crackers. Because of my allergies, and because I don't read Japanese - can't read the ingredients list - and also I don't know how "spicy" they mean by "spicy," I decided to hand them off to someone more adventurous/with fewer sensitivities). Oh, and there was an interesting herbal tea I found at Lovejoy's.
This was the big handmade item. I was disappointed because I ran short and the yarn was an OLD yarn (Lion Brand Amazing - a ribbon yarn) from deep in my stash, and so, discontinued. I just finished the shawl off and maybe she can wear it the opposite way from how it was intended? The long tail at the bottom was supposed to be mirrored at the top
I guess it still works as a small shawl.
The pattern was written for railroad ribbon, and I used a needle size larger than called for and both of that probably affected my running short. (Also I had to do several joins; one of the balls had knots in it where different lengths were just tied together. This sometimes happens and it's mildly annoying).
I do plan to make the pattern (it's very simple: cast on three sts, increase at the start of every row until you have 85 sts, then decrease at the start of every row until you're left with three) again; I have some of the railroad ribbon called for.
Just not yet.
Because knitting with ribbon is kind of annoying.
