S*N*O*W D*A*Y

Yes, today is a snow day for me. Yesterday afternoon around 2, snow started falling thickly here. I had an afternoon meeting and driving home at 5:30, the streets were noticably slick (and I was driving in 2nd gear). Last night, the campus information line reported that there was no class today. Yay!

I've already knit a bit on the Huron Mountain sock toe - my goal for today is to finish these, and to try to knit the last 3" of the back of the Lightning-Bolt Family sweater.

But now, I have data to enter. My mom had piles of old-field data collected in the early 60s from her dissertation project that have never been analyzed by modern means, and she thinks it might be possible for us to mine these data and come up with a paper - both showing whatever patterns result, and that there may be a lot of "old" data out there that can be used with modern interpretative methods.

I have to admit I'm not entirely sanguine about a major journal accepting a paper based on 40 year old data, but I'm going to try.
