Restarting a project

I really have too many projects going. And either I always had some level of distractability (I always had a lot of projects, or was reading several books at one) but it has gotten worse in recent years (stress? aging? maybe something like adult-onset adhd?) to the point where if I put something in a box or a bag I am prone to forget about it most of the time (I have to be very careful about food in the freezer).

But anyway. I have several sweaters - at least four - in various stages of completion, and I realized I wanted to start pulling those out and finishing them. Incunabula will probably take the most and A Cardigan for John REALLY only needs its pocket and button bands (and I have to find the buttons I bought for it again...) but ugh, button bands. I also have a Chalcedony that I started as invigilating knitting that wouldn't be too hard to pick back up. (And I think I have a colorwork vest that I may never actually finish.....)

But for tonight, I got to thinking about the "Crayon Scribbles" linen-stitch pullover I'm making out of a Noro yarn (Aya, rather than the recommended one, but the gauge is similar enough). It took some looking! I had put it in the Winnie-the-Pooh bag (I wrote about it here) and hadn't thought it was in there. But I did find it, and added a few more rows.

The only problem is it does require some concentration - linen stitch in the round is a "knit one, slip one purlwise with yarn in front" and you alternate where those fall every row (you can't just keep slipping stitches). Also you have to pay attention to where the markers are, both for increases and also because you don't slip stitches right next to the markers.

I'm still not very far, and because of the slipped stitches it grows slowly, even though it's essentially a worsted weight.

Later this week (not tomorrow night; it's Board Meeting so that takes almost all evening) I might pull out A Cardigan for John and try to finish it. Hope I can find where I put the little box of buttons I ordered for it....

I have several other sweaters' worth of yarn ahead, and I do want to start something, but I feel like I should work on these for now.

I get distracted a lot. I'm reading your blog when I have a hard deadline tomorrow for a project.
