This is a quilt top I pieced at least 15 years ago, using fabrics mostly bought at the OLD Quilt Asylum (back when it was in McKinney. I hung onto it for years thinking I'd eventually hand quilt it but last year decided I wanted it finished, and I'd not likely find time to quilt it myself, and I can't remember but I might have had a discount coupon for The Quilting Tiger, so I took it there. I had it done in sort of a starburst pattern.
The pattern for the top itself is "Yellow Brick Road" which was popular like 15 years ago. It's an Atkinson Designs pattern, and I think I made another quilt of it as well. The fabrics are a mix of types but there are some Kaffe Fassett prints in there, and the backing is his "Zen Clouds" design
It took me a long time to get the binding on - wrestling the quilt through the machine to do the first pass (sewing it down from the front side) is not a lot of fun, and then it takes quite a while to do the second pass (sewing the folded edge down on the back by hand). I finished this up during Zoom knit time today.
A close-up showing some of the prints, and you can see the dense quilting pattern there.
Another close-up. I didn't photograph it but I used a batik with sort of a purplish red background and teal designs in it as the binding.
And the backing, I really really liked this fabric and splashed out on a full-priced (at that time - it would have been a lot more now) fabric for the back because I loved it so much
The quilt is a tiny bit wider and a tiny bit shorter than twin size; it will be a "cover the feet for extra warmth" or a "wrap up in" type quilt.
(I have three more quilts I need to put backings on! And one top to sew up a backing for, and when I feel a bit more financially flush, take in for quilting - and then there's the top I am finishing up)
