Tomorrow Lulu and Hazel's is having (rare for them) Saturday hours, and I wanted to take my "Chandelier" quilt in to get it quilted, so, after school today I quickly ironed the top off (and made sure there were no loose threads or "poke throughs" on the top
This is just a partial view; I don't know that I ever took a full photo of the finished top. (No, actually, I did, back in June). I thought this line was called Pemberley but I can't find it online, and I don't think I saved the paper that came with the charm packs. At any rate - you can see it's sort of like "wallpaper prints" and it's in greys and pinks and yellows.
Edited to add: Found it by trying similar names - it was Amberley, and was apparently from 2018. One thing about quilt fabric - most lines are only printed for a few months, so if something really catches people's fancy, it's gone in a flash, but sometimes you'll find less popular lines YEARS later in a quilt shop somewhere. I don't remember exactly when I bought these, possibly 2019? Possibly one of my rare trips out (to Lulu and Hazel's, I know I got it there) in 2020?
As for the backing - well, I thought I had enough of a fabric in coordinating colors with flappers on it, but I found I only had 2 yards instead of the four I thought I had. But I did have four of a VERY similar (in theme) fabric that I had bought a long time ago (back at the old Sewing Studio in Normal, before they moved, at one of their New Year's sales). I'm pretty sure I had this planned as a backing any way, since I had four yards, which is just enough:
A theater audience, and perhaps more 1930s than 1920s, and the colors are darker and stronger than the original fabric I planned, but it still coordinates well, and it's nice to get a big piece of something out of the stash and used. (More and more, I need to start working down the stash. Partly because stuff has gotten darn expensive lately, but mainly because it is a good idea to use the stuff that's already a sunk cost, so to speak, even if I wind up not using it for what I originally bought it for.
The figures in this are maybe 5" tall, so probably best to use as a backing so it doesn't wind up all cut up in a top.
