One year old

I almost forgot today is my niece's first birthday.

Happy birthday, kid. I hope the world becomes a better place in the coming years than it is right now.

Enjoy being a kid while you can. Don't give in to the pressure to grow up too early. Being a grownup is a trap in a lot of ways and once you've become one, there's no going back.

I hope you like the Duplo I sent you and the card with the big fluffy white cat on it.

I wish I could be there to have some cake and to see you.
