I'm still trying to do the "work on one project a day until something gets done" plan. I'm now up to and working on the heel flap of the second of the socks that I am thinking of as "roller derby" socks (because of the stripes and the colors).

I can tell it's getting close to time that I need a break and need to go see family. I saw that Lowe's ad last night - I guess it's time for the "holiday" ads to start - with the woman carrying her laptop through the house to "show" her adult daughter (over Skype or something, I presume) what they've done with the house, and in the very last bit, she goes out on to the porch and it turns out her daughter has arrived early as a surprise. And I admit to tearing up just a bit, which tells me that I've probably been (a) pushing too hard for too long (both at work and volunteer stuff) and (b) I'm probably spending too much time alone.

Well, three more weeks and I do get a break.
