So many things to be happy about!

First, I finished the next repeat on the shawl, and am ready to move on to the long complex side sections. Here’s a shot of how far I am now; you do a second band of the Starlight motif after the Peace-Pipe motif:

Here’s a close up of the Pukwana of the Peace Pipe motif:

I also have a picture of the just barely started Clapotis. I really like the color combination. It’s an Emu dk Superwash wool, the color is either 989 or 1112 (not clear on the ball band which is color and which is lot):

There was also a lot of talk on the Knitlist about one-skein Kureyon hats, which made me think of the Kureyon I bought in Longview for the one-skein hat pattern in the Vogue Hats 2 book. So I started that also:

I also baked Pfeffernusse, a type of German Christmas cooky. (The recipe I have does not actually include pepper although some do).

Also, there’s a new Knitty out. I like the Uterus pattern, it has sort of a “giant microbes” type vibe. And there’s an extremely cute penguin. And a Empire-waisted sweater-tunic (Belle Epoque. Yes, I know, it’s a different period, but it says “Empire” to me) that ACTUALLY WILL FIT A WOMAN OF MY SIZE (that’s important to me: I have a few Empire-style things and I look quite well in them, but many designers seem to think that women with boobies don’t get to wear Empire waists). Oh, and the wavy scarf is really clever. Oh, and the cabled cardigan. And there’s even a felted Mancala board.

This is probably the best issue yet for me, the one that has the most things I actually looked at and said, oh yes, I must make this sometime. The Belle Epoque sweater is a definite, as is the penguin (I’m not a Linux user, I just like penguins and I like knitted toys). The wavy scarf is a probably. The uterus is probably a “what the hell, I’ve got x amount leftover and I want to play” sort of project.

Oh, and the last best good thing: My final exams are all written.

The lace looks beautiful. I love the colors on the Clapotis and the hat.

I've been looking for a good pfeffernusse recipe for a while; do you have any suggestions?

Congratulations on getting the exams written. I'm really envious.
