It's going to be a week of odd spam, I guess.
One that came in this morning had the subject line, "Muscle craps"
So many possible responses to that:
the standard, "Nothing good can come of this"
"I'm Mike Rowe, and this is my job*."
For want of an "m," the Charley Horse was lost.
Is it "muscle" or "mussel?" Because that second one can be fixed by just letting them sit in clean cool water for a while will, um, eliminate the problem.
Or maybe it's what happens when someone on Muscle Beach tries to lift to heavy a barbell...
(*I actually like this one as sort of an all-purpose comment on dealing with stuff in life you'd rather not deal with....but then I have kind of a tv-crush on Mike Rowe.)
"I'm not a hipster. I just like knitting."
Also a crocheter, quilter, pony-head, and professor/scientist.

Most of the spam I get is either offering to sell me a college degree (no thanks, I got three of 'em the old fashioned way - I EARRRRRNED them), or do something involving debt (I try to avoid debt so those are a moot point, even if I trusted someone who got into touch with me in a way even shadier than a cold-call from a boiler room), or offering to enlarge or otherwise improve body parts I do not have.
These all, of course, get deleted without a second thought.
But once in a while, I get a spam message with a subject line that makes me go "wha'?" before I delete it.
Today's:
"Bon Jovi lyrics roulette"
As they say, nothing good can come of that.

Man.
Is anyone else getting absolutely HAMMERED with spam today? (I mean in e-mail - I've pretty much managed to avoid comment spam here). I'm getting messages fast and thick, especially on my campus address, which irritates me. I don't like having to go in every 20 minutes and wipe out spam lest my storage-space fill up.
Spammers, bug off! I'm not ever going to buy anything from you. Especially bug off from spamming my WORK address!

Did you know that Japan has its own version of poison ivy? (a Toxicodendron species). And it's considered invasive? I don't know, somehow that irritates me - that Japan even has to deal with it.
****
And another from the "I promise, this will be the last thing I ever say on this topic" files: political cartoon summing up pretty much how I feel about the whole Anna Nicole mess.
(And secondly: Am I alone in thinking that it's sad she's getting far more attention now that she's dead than what she had got previously? And I also feel like...I don't know, like if fame operated differently than it does, I guess, she'd be in rehab somewhere instead of a cooler in Florida...)
The practical application to most of our lives? Send people flowers on their birthdays, not only to their funerals. Pay attention to them now, not when they die, whether they die luridly or not.
