So, I was flipping through the channels, looking for something to knit to.
Did you know Mr. T has a home-renovation show now? On DIY network.
It's called "I Pity the Tool." Yup.
I have to admit - it DOES look like Mr. T knows his way around power tools, which makes it even better. It always makes me happy to learn when someone I know from one walk of life prove themselves knowledgeable in another one.
Yes, it's Mr. T so it is kind of over the top and there's a little bit of his mild trash-talky stuff, but it's just so gosh-darn fun.
This is my face when I realized what the show was:
:D
No, he doesn't do the gold chains any more - apparently, he stopped wearing them (Perhaps he even sold them and donated the money? I might remember that) after Hurricane Katrina, partly as a show of solidarity for people who lost so much. But he still has the Mohawk haircut and the rough-neck voice.
Yes, the show is seriously goofy but it's goofy in a good way. And I get the sense that Mr. T is a good guy underneath it all - and this interview seems to back it up.
Seems to me that I also remember hearing he showed up for jury duty in his neighborhood when he was called for it....
