The dude is supposed to come out and "look at" the hot water heater at noon.
I fervently hope "look at" includes "replace with the new model I bought"
Wake-me-up-at-3-am worry of the day: the new model I got is a couple inches taller than the old model (none of the models was as short as the old model). What if they can't make the water pipes on top fit?

They can shorten pipes pretty easily - try not to worry toooooo much.
