Well, no good deed goes unpunished. I got a $20 parking ticket for "not a designated parking space."

I have, up until today, always parked where I am supposed to. I have witnessed a great many parking scofflaws who were NEVER ticketed.

I also parked there BECAUSE I was taking something to a university function, trying to be a nice person.

stuff like this happens enough, I might think twice about doing "nice" things in the future. Already I'm seriously considering if I even BRING food to this thing next year if it's on a Wednesday again. (And obviously other people already decided that; there was almost nothing there this time).

I'm going to see if the secretary can plead my case, if not, I'm going to pay the ticket but I am VERY ANGRY about this. Not so much about the $20 but about the principal of it. That the one time I break a rule, I get whacked, even though people around me merrily break rules all the time and never feel consequences.

Yes, I am feeling a little sorry for myself right now but I have a headache, and I have a full evening's duties ahead of me, and I've had to deal with people unhappy about grades...
