More good stuff:
I was able to e-mail the last person I needed to check with on something about the paper, and he e-mailed me right back. So now I have a Personal Communication (from a Big Famous Data Analysis Guy, no less) answering one of the questions that doubtless would come up from the reviewers. The paper has gone back to my co-author but it may be in the hands of the journal editors before the week's out.
I also called the local public library and in fact, they DO want all the leftover books (eight boxes worth) that didn't sell at the Youth Yard Sale (I rescued the books; one of the kids suggested using them to make a bonfire, which irritated me even though he was joking. In the fillyjonk's world, you DO NOT JOKE about burning books. You just don't.). Most of them are paperback mysteries, and I admit I think I will give into the temptation of...harvesting...a few that look interesting that I haven't read. I'm justifying it because (a) We're not going to get any money for them anyway and (b) I donated the pizzas we fed the kids with on Saturday, which was about $60 out-of-pocket.
but my conscience will probably get to me and I'll probably wind up dropping 10 cents times however many I took (the final price at the end of the day) in the youth fund anyhow.
And the expensive bottle of Bath and Body Works spray-on sunscreen I thought I had lost turned up.
It's wonderful to see the little loose ends of the end-of-the-semester weaving themselves in.
