Several good things.
I have my second harvest of beans, and it looks like there may be more to add to it today. I'm going to have to look at the packet and write down the variety; it does really well here (It's not good old Kentucky Wonder; it was some specialty variety from Burpee's).
I'm almost finished with the Prairie Stripes afghan I started back around Thanksgiving. I pulled it out again this weekend and noticed I was within a few stripes of being done. Tonight, I anticipate weaving in ends (yuck) and maybe beginning the garter stitch borders.
And I got my teaching evaluation comments today. Some really good and positive ones, the negative ones were more on the order of "there's too much work in this class" or "too much math" (that last, I take as somewhat of a badge of honor). More good than bad, several that said something like "the class was a challenge but I learned a lot" which is the best comment I feel I can get. This is a big change from my first semester's comments, which were quite negative (some of them just downright mean; no attempt to be constructively critical). I guess I just wasn't really prepared that first semester and didn't have the hang of teaching. And it looks like I've been progressively getting better and better at it as time goes on. So, yay me.
And there's a good chance my summer class won't go. That's mixed news - I feel bad that the five students who already signed up will have to try to take it in the fall, and it would be nice to have the bucks, but there are so many things - research, and reading, and prepping for my fall classes, and ooh, ooh coming up with new labs and new class activities - that I can do with that time.
I've also spend part of the day in the field already, setting up an experiment, and I have two manuscripts essentially ready to send in for evaluation. So, again, yay me.
