Saw a knit-mention on the local (channel 12 out of Sherman, Texas) sportscast this morning. There was video from the Dallas Stars hockey game, and they cut to a woman sitting in the stands knitting on something large and pale pink (it looked like an afghan). The sportscaster commented about the knitter,"Well, with the way the Stars have played lately, you need to bring your own entertainment to the game."
I guess that counts as a positive mention. Of knitting, not of the Stars.
Wearing the lightning-bolt sweater again this morning - had to do a quick repair, because when I pulled it out of the drawer, there was a hole on the underside of the left sleeve. Horrors! It does not look like a m*th hole, and I have seen no evidence of m*ths, so I assume it snagged on something (perhaps even a rough spot on the corner of the drawer) and snapped a strand somewhere.
Luckily, I knew right where the leftover yarn was, and even more luckily, I had fifteen spare minutes to weave up the hole. Up close, it's not super-pretty, but it's secure and it's under the sleeve in an area few people would look closely at.
Still, it makes me mad to find a hole in such a new sweater. (I'm that way about *everything*; I cried the first time someone dinged my then-new car with their door in a parking lot).
