Well, I received the memo from my department chair today, recommending me to the dean for tenure and promotion.

He said some very nice things in the memo about me, both in reference to my professional ability and my character :)

This is going to be one of the things I keep in my 'drawer' - I have a desk drawer where I keep things like this, and nice notes from students, and other good stuff like that. I call it my "I don't suck" drawer, for those days when I actually question whether I do or not.

I wonder if everyone, regardless of their ability, has days when they feel like everything they touch turns to crap. I certainly never hear many people talking about low-confidence days, but I know I have them.
