queueing
or however you spell it...
I'm thinking about the projects I want to start soon. One of the things that keeps me happy and keeps me knitting (or quilting, or whatever) is the thought of the new projects I can start.
so here are some:
The Lightning-Bolt sweater from the spring IK
Also from that issue, the chunky fingerless gloves (but I am using el-cheap-o Woolease bulky instead of the spendy cashmere)
A simple rollbrim hat to use up some leftovers of 1824 wool - I'm going to do it in a series of 4-row stripes. I have 10 or so colors on hand.
A pair of gloves (from the Vogue knits gloves book) out of some sparkly nice sport/DK weight (Scintillante) that I have left from the shawl I made for my mom this spring
Socks - I'm thinking of starting the Huron Mt. socks in Socks on the Road, doing some fast chunky cabled socks (my own design) from some Lamb's Pride in-stash, and doing another pair of mini-Ringels.
Mittens from the Katia Folk I have left over from a rollbrim cap I made
The one-skein Artful Yarns Portrait scarf (I have one skein of Mona Lisa - which are colors actually more suited to my mother - and two skeins of Christina's World - for myself. I might make up the Mona Lisa one and give it to Mom for Christmas, even though I said "I'm not going to make myself nuts by knitting gifts this year".)
The Celtic Cabled socks (now that I found my long-missing copy of the pattern)
A scarf, in mint green and pink (yeah, I know, so very preppy, but hey, I went to a prep school) from the directions in last November's Real Simple (I have been informed that the directions don't have you cast on enough sts for a really wide nice scarf - so I'm going with 45 rather than the recommended 30).
all of this is from yarn I have in stash at this very moment (and there is more, much more, yarn waiting). I am such a yarn ho'.
