I am so ready to be done with my mom's shawl. The working edge is so long now that it takes almost 15 minutes to do one of the "complex" rows.
I have about 3 to 4 inches to go. I might get that done tonight. I'm waiting for my grad student to either come in or call. It's raining. So we may not be able to do the fieldwork I scuttled other plans for.
I spent yesterday afternoon doing extensive housecleaning. The only rooms untouched are my sewing room (no one sees that so it can stay a mess) and the "guest bedroom" that is really my office (I want to get to that one sometime soon).
Never again will I have white ceramic tile. I can say that much. The white ceramic tile in the kitchen and bath came with the house but white tile is SUCH a bad idea. I scrubbed them both and already they are starting to look dirty again. One bit of lint or fragment of leaf from outdoors spoils the effect of cleanliness.
Next time it will be mottley tile. Mottled in the colors of stuff that is most likely to be dropped on it.
Still, it's nice to have a clean house.
I don't know what my "next project" will be. I have three pairs of socks on the needles (all on the first sock of the pair) that I should finish up. But I want to do that "Carnival" shawl from a back issue of Knitnet )(the pattern isn't up on the site any more; you have to buy the back issues CD to get it). I found the yarn and the pattern in a bag when I was cleaning my fiber closet. But I also have the Spanish Shawl to finish.
Arrgh. I want to start something new.
