Wednesday evening things

 * I finished the last of the bags this morning

I took them over to school (easier to corral the mess of cutting/peeling off the paper). Tomorrow I will try Lowe's for plastic coated wire for closing them up.

* I have to make myself a couple Post Its to post on the inside of my front door and on my car dashboard to remind me: DON'T TAKE FIRST. They are going to start construction and while they haven't YET, the signs are all up AND they have turned both stoplights to "blink red" which makes them a four way stop, and people are bad about abiding by that, so I guess I take an alternate route for however many months/ years this work will take (sigh).

And yes, University is still messed up. They have not finished it. It's VERY inconvenient trying to get around in town right now, and it's too hot to enjoy going very many places.

I have cabin fever :(

* I found out yesterday we're getting a starbucks, for whatever that's worth. They're tearing down an old car dealership building on Main, and at first I thought - given the site's footprint - that we might be getting an Aldi. (We NEED another grocery, especially a more-affordable one). But nope, Starbucks, which I would only v. rarely use (don't drink coffee, can't afford the calories of the treats).

We DO have a new ish business down the street - HteaO (and yes, that orthography irks me, but whatever). They feature iced tea in many flavors, both sweet and unsweet. I had to run to Walgreen's (long story but got a BAD paper cut and realized I had only one bandaid left - inexplicably, a Buc-EEs bandaid; I have never been inside a Buc-EEs. Anyway, the tea place is an easy jog from there so I decided to try it. I got "Sweet coconut," which was pretty good, and one of my colleagues told me that both the sweet and unsweet mint ones are good, so I might try that later on.

And yeah, it's not cheap, but

And yes, I need little treats, though there aren't many options right here in town right now.

* I've been picking away at the scarf and the simple socks and the big blanket, but nothing is at a photogenic stage right now. At least now I have my sewing machine back and can change out the thin embroidery needle for a size 14 and put the white thread back on, and get back to the succulents quilt top.
