At long last

I FINALLY finished the "John-Boy" socks out of KnitPicks' "Static" yarn tonight. Just a simple sock pattern, the standard slipped stitch heel, round-heel turn, and star toe that I tend to do as a default.

I really like the colors in them; it's an unusual combination - sort of a chestnut brown (with a purplish cast) for the main color, greyed-pastel stripes, and then the "static" section is tan and sepia, like an old photograph.

I intentionally made them non-matching; it's a long repeat in a yarn I've never knit with before and I didn't want to risk running short.

It is a yarn that feels very nice on

I'll wash them before wearing them "for real" - I suspect the darker yarn may bleed and I'd rather not it leave dye on my feet.

I have another skein of this in the colorway called "Grace Brothers" ("Are You Being Served" - get it?) in different shades of blue and cream.

I think next up might be to get back to the "SHaGS" socks - which have a different way of doing the gusset and heel
