* Apparently all is well with AWOL colleague, at least I haven't received an e-mail saying anything dire and I think if something were wrong it'd've been found out by now
* My other colleague had her baby (a little girl), apparently mom and baby are doing fine.
* My first "Cratejoy" crate came - I ordered a subscription in frustration when I thought I'd have to cancel doki doki (and I did cancel the gachapon crates, since they were just sending out the leftovers of past crates that I already had). I ordered an "oddball" crate which is apparently mostly stationery type stuff from mostly women-owned businesses. I took out a six month subscription; I'll see how I feel at the end of that but getting SOMETHING that contains small, mostly-nice and sometimes-useful surprises once a month is important to me. I've not opened it yet; I'm telling myself I must go finish piano practice first.
* Left campus early because the power just suddenly went OUT. Then flickered. Then out again and stayed. An e-mail from campus tells me it's campus wide (fascinating, because the traffic lights on First were unaffected - I figured it might have been JUST my building. O G and E is working on it but at this point there is *no predicted ETA* which is a bit concerning. (I wonder what they are doing in the dorms, how will they feed the students dinner? Or do they have generators for the dorms so they can at least have SOME power?)
* Sounds like there was a big fire up at Chickasaw? I can't quite tell *where* (it's a big park) but they say no buildings were damaged so maybe it was more over by Veteran's Lake? Some of the areas might actually benefit from prescribed burns but wildfires can really cause some random messing-up of stuff. Ah, no the local news has a story - wow, quite a bit of the park is closed right now: semi-local news station story on it. Boy darn I'm glad that didn't happen LAST week, I would have been sad if I hadn't been able to go.
* Big storms supposed to come in tonight but hopefully they should track west of me. We have gotten rain, which is good (we need it), but I don't like severe storms.
