This is the Pioneer Braid Scarf from Catherine Ryan's blog.
I used "Big Twist" (which I think is a JoAnn's house brand - at least I bought it there) called "Freelance." It's a heavy worsted; it took about 1 3/4 skeins of the yarn (I bought three, so I'll have to think of something for the remaining 1 and about 1/4).
It's a very long color shift, which isn't ideal for this scarf pattern. I'm not sure I love how the colors fell out, especially with the "surprise" mustard color mixed in there.
That said, it's a small enough amount and the part that goes around my face when I wear it wound up is prettier:
It means now I don't have to wonder "do I drag this big thing with me and try to finish it?" and also now I have the needles - short 6 mm straight needles which are pretty good for scarf knitting - freed them up for another scarf (Horizon Ridge, I think it's called?) that I'm making out of a shorter-change ombre yarn in pinks and grays. So now I can take those along and have that as a simple project to work on.

But I probably shouldn't say: "It is finished." I think there may be a different context implied.
