small good news

* Used the new colorimeter with my ecology lab for the first time today. I told them this would be a learning experience for me, too, because it was brand new. Except for one bobble at the start with "what button do you push for this" it made sense and it works pretty smoothly and there will be v. minimal rewrites on the soils labs to incorporate ti.

* The students were pretty cool about the uncertainty of new equipment but in general this seems like a good class.

* Got the first read-through of the scholarship applications done, so I am pretty well set with "what I was needing to do over the weekend" which means I CAN take Saturday off.

* And at Board Meeting tonight - well, I can't say much but it looks like we might have a promising candidate, so things are much better than they looked this morning.

I give an exam tomorrow which means one class with no talking, which is good.
