What I need to do today:
Finish grading the big papers
Do the catch-up grading for people who were out sick and got permission to do stuff like hand the last lab in late
Write, or at least start, the genbio final exam
What I want to do today:
Go home and finish the knitted mitts for my colleague and start making amigurumi.
And maybe bake cookies.
Other than that: it's unnaturally warm here. I do not know how to dress when it is 80 degrees in December like it was yesterday. Yes, I get that I can dress like I do when it's 80 degrees in October or 80 degrees in May.....but December just feels so ingrained to me as "weather where you have to wear warm clothes" from my Ohio upbringing and my time in Michigan, that it causes major cognitive dissonance to have to be pulling out my little cotton dresses after Thanksgiving.
It is supposed to get cold this coming Monday. It's supposed to go from about 75 to about 50. I'm expecting a migraine or an ocular migraine during that time.
We also really need rain. Badly. We're in the most severe stage of drought right now and it doesn't look like we're going to get much rain - and normally, fall and spring are our rainy seasons. I'm starting to worry about my two remaining big trees.
