Yup, I did it. Survived another semester (including a grade appeal three minutes after grades were due - someone earned a 70% and apparently thought they were entitled to an 80%. Well, there's an admin for that and she has been apprised of what grades the student actually earned).
Came home, did my last piano lesson of the semester (they restart when I come back in January) and packed. Two and a half weeks' of clothing (two pairs of slacks plus the ones I will wear, two dresses, a skirt, seven blouses, "enough" underwear (I have access to a washer and dryer), and a couple of sweaters.
And a frighteningly great amount of yarn. I even got the yarn for Rosedale stuffed into my carry on bag, so I have high hopes of, if not finishing it over break, at least making good progress on the body (The second sleeve is nearly done). And yarn for a toy dragon and a toy "Mr. Ed" horse and for mitts and socks and hats....
And my copy of "Dr. Whortle's School," which I am going to re-start reading. And a book on ancient history ("Antiquity"). And the book version of Mrs. Miniver, which is apparently different from the movie version (which, although it's a very nice movie, was propaganda to get the US involved in the war helping Britain). And a book called something like "The Eureka Effect" which I may take out and replace with something else, I don't know. Books I haven't started are always a gamble; it's bad to take a book that may irritate you on a trip and maybe be stuck with just it to read.
This time tomorrow, if everything goes as it should, I should be finishing my dinner on the train and thinking about going back to my compartment to read until it's time to sleep.
I do have a few "scheduled" posts over break; I will return in January.
