Teaching duties are done for the day. Now I have to go and make sure the field site for tomorrow is not under water (the lake was up to 620' the other day which is awfully close), and then I get to do my "student" duties for the day (i.e., piano lesson).
It's actually kind of nice having "student" duties for a change, being back on the other side of the desk, so to speak, where my main responsibility is to practice well and pay attention to the teacher. (And as I said before, it's really gratifying to work at something and see success and progress; to see my playing get better over time as I keep on practicing. Some weeks, that's what keeps me from tearing out my hair a little when I have to deal with some of the more difficult people up here on campus.)
