Things that are good today:
1. My car is fixed. And it cost almost $100 less than the mechanic estimated it would, because it took them less time than anticipated to fix it.
2. My unloved Sienna Wildfoote has found a home, and in exchange I'm getting two kinds of cool green Opal (which I will love).
3. I found a paper that will probably be very valuable background information for explaining just why it's important to study plant ecology at large spatial scales.
4. It's Friday.
5. Even though it's supposed to get cold and nasty again this weekend, I'm not bothered by it, I've got work I can work on at home. I actually kind of like cold, nasty weather when I don't have to leave my nice comfortable house.
6. I sewed the binding on to one of the two smallish quilts that I had quilted (picture, maybe tomorrow). And I have the machine-stitched part of the binding done on the second one. I plan to hand-stitch it down tonight while watching "Joan of Arcadia." (wait, is that on tonight? last week they made some reference into "next episode in two weeks." Anyway, I'll sew the binding down on the second one tonight, even if it means digging through my CDs to find one I've not listened to in a while).
7. I was able to help three people with knit-related things this week (beyond the yarn swap): there were two people on Knitter's Review needing a ball or two of a discontinued color of wool-ease (and DANG, do I have a lot of wool-ease in the stash. When I started knitting again, especially when I got into socks, that was what I bought a lot of. I have a great many two or three ball lots of wool-ease in different colors. I should take it out and contemplate if I want to do something like make an on-the-cheap version of that Mitered Mozart that was in Knitters' several years ago). And one person needed a pattern that I had, but had decided I would never use, so I sent it to her. (And she's making me a hat in return!)
