I have to say that I agree with Stefanie about the Jell-o colored needles. I bought a set of these as part of an insanely large self-pity Hobby Lobby shopping trip back in November and they are big fun. They're nice and slidy, so they're good for making scarves, and the candy colors do cheer me up.

other stuff I'm loving right now:

Albertson's "Hearty Oatmeal" bread. It tastes healthy without, well, tasting healthy (you know, in the twigs-rocks-and-bark sort of way).

Badger Balm. I bought a tin of this a long time ago and didn't realize how wonderful it is for winter-beat-up feet. I've been putting it on at night and then putting my Fuzzy Feet on over it so I don't grease up the sheets on my bed. (ooh, is that going to get me weird websearches now).

The pin of Edward Gorey's "The Doubtful Guest" that I got for Christmas in my stocking. I loved that story with a passion when I was a kid of 9 or 10 or so (my mom checked Amphigorey out of the library and I devoured it even though I didn't get a lot of the jokes. And I remember checking it out again as a teenager, trying with my high-school French to decipher what I supposed were the dirty limericks written in French. [I was more or less disappointed once I had translated them]). That said, I really do love the Doubtful Guest. (When I was a kid, I even made a tiny doll of it - sort of like a penguin but grey and wearing a scarf and plimsolls). It makes me insanely happy to have a pin of it that I can wear.

The fact that I have a big big stack of magazines to work my way through (from while I was out of town) over the next week and a half or so. I love magazines.

The tin of Fortnum and Mason tea that my parents carried back ALL THE WAY FROM ENGLAND in their luggage for me, because they know I like good tea. This is the one served in their "Fountain Restaurant" and I think I shall have to search the web after it's all gone to see if there's anyway to buy it Stateside, it's that good. And it's in a tin, a Useful Tin to Put Things In once I've used up all the tea.

The fact that I've got a big big box of quilt fabric winging its way to me - fabric I purchased while up in Illinois, and the fact that my desire to piece quilts has come back - partly because I know two places now where I can get them quilted for me, so they don't have to languish in the closet for years and years while I drag my feet (fingers?) on hand-quilting the quilt in line before them.

M'Liss Rae Hawley's (that name always sounds like a Beauty Pageant Winner name to me; she's pretty but she doesn't refer to beauty pageants so I guess she wasn't one) books on designing quilts from fat quarters. (The smaller pieces are easier to use, easier to store, and you can BUY MORE OF THEM than you can of the bigger yardages). Her books are lots of fun and are really inspiring. I bought the most recent one and I already want to do at least three of the quilts in it.
