Wow.

I may not be one of the best known or most popular bloggers, but I do have great readers. Yesterday, I commented on wanting to do a capelet poncho thing out of the Patons' Mosaic, and I got a bunch of emails making suggestions for what pattern to use. A special thanks to Diann at Knits With Cats for mentioning the "knit round scarf" in The Knit Stitch. That triggered a memory in me, and I went and looked at my copy of The Purl Stitch - and there it is. A pattern like what I wanted - sort of lacy, likely to be warm, pretty, round. It's the Not Knit Round scarf. So now, when I get to it, all I'll need to do is swatch. I'm guessing it will be close because even though Mosaic is described on the label as a bulky, it seems to be a light bulky, close to a worsted.

I'm definitely rebounding today - I think I was more worried about chairing that curriculum meeting than I thought. Finished the bag part of the Booga bag for the AAUW group yesterday evening. I'm really happy with the color scheme - used Naturespun worsted in Latte and a fuzzy yarn from "Yarn Bee" (which seems to be the Hobby Lobby house brand) in a color called Port Wine, which is purple and tan. I'll post a picture once I've felted it. (I'm still working on the handle part).

Much, much happier today than I've been all week. (Part of that may be that I was actually at home last night, and I spent the evening knitting and listening to Christmas music). I'm starting to get excited for Thanksgiving - don't have much housecleaning to do to make things ready. Going to make fruitcake this weekend. (I have a very good recipe for white fruitcake that's come down through my mom's mom's family - it's like the Scottish Dundee cake, and is more like a pound cake with fruit in it than the heavy dark fruitcake most people know).
