Two things:
First, Michelle has declared it SOCKTOBER! I like that idea. I have a pair of partly-done, read-while-knitting socks in a self-patterning yarn, and I also have the endlessly stalled Canal du Midi socks. I should join in on the Socktober vibe and finish both of those.
Second, sometimes I'm just not very strong. I told myself that I would buy No More Yarn until after the holidays - and was, in fact, contemplating what I could do out of the stash as my upcoming projects (I STILL want to do Clapotis using my blue-green dk stashyarn). Well, then, that hussy Elann comes trotting up to me (well, not really, I went to the site of course) showing off her new 127 Print. And she has some in green. My favorite shade of green, one that makes my eyes look less brown and more green and picks up the red in my hair.
So, I suck. I bought 16 balls of the stuff, which is an off-the-cuff estimate for an average pullover for me. (I'm going to check at lunchtime in my Patternworks catalog at home - the Patternworks website is hosed, as usual - to make sure that's an appropriate amount, judging from the patterns they sell for the yarn).
Oh, I just realized. The pattern I was thinking about and lusting after was for Odyssey, not 127 print. Oh well. Maybe I can make something up, using my handy-dandy Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns. I think the 127 print would make a lovely yoke-collared sweater.
