Rain today, finally. It's supposed to get "considerably" (from the upper 80s to low 70s) cooler this weekend. Bring it on. I'm ready for a change in the weather.

Switched over from the Hiawatha shawl last night to working on my mom's gloves. (I decided I really do need to get going on those gift items). I like knitting gloves, I've decided - they look trickier than they actually are. I've done the index and middle finger and began the ring finger last night of the first glove. (I'm using the glove pattern from the Vogue Mittens and Gloves book). I do hope I have enough Scintillante to finish both of them. I should, but I always wonder.

My folks called last night prior to leaving on a trip. No news on the blood tests yet, but tonight my father described the results as being "slightly higher" than the accepted values. That's a bit different from the impression I got before. And it seems more likely to be a false result or an anomaly if the results are just "slightly" out of range. So I'm going to try not to worry.

And it's the weekend. And I got paid yesterday (or so I believe; we've not received any campus mail in several days thanks to people taking annual leaves or being out sick). I should be able to pick up my Snowman quilt tomorrow, and I'm considering a side-trip to the bookstore. Or maybe a side trip to the really nice used bookstore in Denison, and a side trip to the antiques mall, just for the heck of it.
