This weekend, I got a new draft of a research paper written and e-mailed to my co-author. I also knit some on the Lightning Bolt Family sweater (I want to keep calling it the Zig Zag sweater, because of the zigzag stitch pattern).
I decided I needed to start up some "scholarly reading" again but discovered that the book (on plant phylogeny) was too complex to be able to read and work on the sweater at the same time - I needed something that was all garter stitch with no shaping. So I dug out some of the Valeria di Roma "Cisne" I bought from Elann a few weeks back and cast on 30 sts on size 7 needles for a simple scarf. I'm using a color they called "denim blend"; it should match well with my winter coat.
though with my luck we are done with cold weather for now, and next fall eyelash scarves will be "so last year" (again, that's why I hate fashion; I get something I like and then all the fashionistas decide it's "over").
I'm trying very hard to resist ordering CR-8 or CR-9 from the crocodile collection #2. I do not need any more self-patterning sock yarn. Even though these are neat...
