Can I just say something here?

Screw duct tape.

When my clock-alarm went off this morning, it was in the middle of an announcement that it was recommended we all go out and buy duct tape and plastic sheeting to "seal off" our houses in the event of an attack.

I am a single woman. I live in a house that is almost drafty enough to fly a kite in on windy days. There is no amount of duct tape that will make it impossible for biotoxins or radiological hoo-has to get in my house and kill me, if someone is determined to take the little town where I live out.

if the terrorists come for us, I'm not going to let them find me standing on my ladder trying to tape my house shut. They will find me standing calmly in my front yard, prepared to give them a double single-finger salute and tell them what big, important powerful men they are, (with the right note of sarcasm) and then stand there and let them kill me.

I refuse to live like a flatworm under a rock.
