I got the house (mostly) cleaned between yesterday and today. It had gotten bad; in a lot of places I hadn't deep-cleaned carefully for months so it took a long time. But I'm glad it's done and I think it will make me feel happier - the house already feels cozier to me with the floors well swept and the dust gone and things (mostly) put away.
I didn't get my bedroom done so very well, but that's all right. I've got sheets in the washer now, and if they get done n time I intend to change them tonight.
Also, as a reward for getting it mostly done, I put up the rest of the Halloween decorations:
sparkly glamor bat
Also a couple of beaded spiders:
I also found some "spider lights" I had bought several years ago, used once, and then never got back out. So I tied them into the white fairy lights I always have up (they are on a timer; they come on about the time I would be getting home from work)
Here they are on:
AND I had the blinky lights from (I think it was?) last year (or maybe the year before, all the years run together now) and put them up:
They're all LED bulbs, so they cost minimal electricity, but they make my life a little happier - I like things like this, and I like decorating for holiday, feeling like there's some little special thing in the year.
If the sheets get done/bed gets made early enough, I might also take a warm bath in my (newly clean) bathtub before bed.
