Today I learned:
AG-13 batteries are the same thing as LR44 batteries, so this silly little thing I bought at JoAnn's will work with the batteries I got (and never had to change yet) for my little robot unicorn:
That's an old Orvieto bottle. I don't know how old, I bought it (already empty) at the Treasure Mart in Ann Arbor almost 30 years ago now. For years I had silk roses in it (I bought it just because I liked it) but I think I like it better as an LED lamp sort of thing. (Bonus: if the power goes out this will be another light source. LEDS use relatively little power so I presume the batteries will last a while)
And I broke my yarn fast a tiny bit - the cream yarn was one I had, the grey yarn was a Loopy Ewe purchase (partly paid for by a little store credit I had). I want to make Study Hall (I am hoping I have enough of the cream; if I don't, it's a busy enough pattern I could probably sub in another yarn)
And yes, I probably had copious amounts in OTHER colors, but I wanted a dark grey because it's fundamentally a Sanquar pattern and I wanted to be more or less true to tradition (dark grey or black with white or cream) and I also liked the idea of it mimicking the colors of those old composition books that I use so much.
And New Ponies. These are two ponies that exist in G4 but came from earlier generations:
Yup, their original forms! Applejack from G1, Pinkie from G3. (Now my G3 Minty has her best friend with her!)
Each one individually:
She may be a sensible pony in G4 (I would argue she's the MOST sensible of the Mane 6), but back then she was often described as a "silly" pony.
And G3 Pinkie Pie:
"I betcha can't make a face crazier than......THIS!"
I think to make it through this summer (it really does feel like it's 8000 degrees out there; my air conditioner is working fine but it still feels hot in my house) and also just all the crazy news and the increasing sharp-elbowedness of the world is to kind of go Full Hobbit and focus on the little things that make me happy in life.
