I'm not a football fan, and Roman Numerals are weird some times, also and plus I am a child of the early 80s, so this is how I will be thinking of this year's Superb Owl:
(Bad lighting, wet hair, and no make up: apologies)
(Yes, the L for loser hand gesture was in place before Smash Mouth. We also made jokes about it at my prep school because the paid laundry service was known as Big L*)
(*I also remember feeling really naughty for making the quip that "Big L does an 'L**' of a job." I was really quite an innocent and proper young teen)
(** H-E-Double Hockey Sticks)
(And yes, apparently they are dumping Roman Numerals, at least for this year, I suppose to avoid people like me poking fun. But it's still the 50th, and that's still L)

Wonderful Radio London, a pirate station anchored in the North Sea a few yards outside the three-mile limt, was often referred to in jingles as Big L.
Well, like I mentioned in my little riff, as a Chiefs fan I am used to the L no matter what Roman numeral it is ;-)
