Heh. YouTube funny

So, YouTube sent me a link to a video (A USGS video) because I was subscribed to their channel.

Well, they also listed six videos I "might" like. The random diversity of these makes me laugh:

1. the song "Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight"
2. Eddie Izzard's "Star Wars Canteen" sketch
3. a longform recording of Glenn Gould playing Bach's Goldberg variations
4. "When Ponies Cry" which is apparently a Japanese-made bit of Pony fanmusic
5. King's College Choir Christmas carols, from 2011
6. Regular Show's top ten funniest moments.

I guess I must like both high and low culture, according to that. And pop culture. (I'm thinking, 1 and 6 = "low" culture, 3 and 5 = high culture, 4 = pop culture, and Eddie Izzard = kind of undefinable on that scale)

That is an eclectic selection for sure.

Lonnie Donegan's song about the chewing gum contains a more subtle question, buried in the middle: "If tin whistles are made of tin, what do they make foghorns out of?"

Always wondered about that.
