And more potholders

Yeah, I'm slightly obsessed with them now. But I don't know anything else in my life where 20-30 minutes of work produces something that is both useful and attractive, and is fun to make.

And here's the track my mind runs in: yesterday afternoon, looking at the loops, I thought, "You know, I could make a set of Mane Six color-theme potholders."

So I strung on some yellow, salmon-pink, and a couple of turquoise blue loops (Fluttershy). And I realized....if I'm going to do that, I will need more loops of specific colors, I'm almost out of yellow. (And also, without white loops, there would be no Rarity. Which would be truly tragic). So I went to Amazon this morning (someone stop me) and ordered more yellow loops (I used up nearly all of them) and found they have white! So Rarity! I might even do a white-and-purple houndstooth to represent her, seeing as she's the Fashion Pony. And anyway, the houndstooth pattern still amazes me, that I can get that just with the simple over-and-under weaving.

I have hot pink and salmon-pink, and also blue and yellow (Pinkie Pie)
And a couple shades of purple, and I could probably press salmon pink into service for the "stripe" in Twilight's hair.
And Applejack will be easy: orange, yellow, red, maybe one lone green for her eyes.
Rainbow Dash - well, I don't have quite the right pale blue but the rainbow-themed one I already made could work.

(No gray loops, so I can't do a wonky grey-and-yellow potholder for Derpy. But I do have lime green, so I could do a Granny Smith - lime green, white, maybe red for her scarf/shawl thing.)

This amuses me greatly. No, I don't need six more potholders, but it makes me smile. (And anyway, I used a potholder yesterday as a coaster under my tea mug - and it's even more satisfactory than the laminated-picture coasters I have; if I spill a little, the potholder will absorb it.)
