First off - Hagrid in-progress. I'm a bit over halfway through the full 36-row repeat of the "Buckbeak" pattern:
Sides are a wrapped-stitch pattern the author calls "Dragonscale," then there are the Follow the Spiders twisted stitch cables (I presume those are webs or trails and not the spiders themselves, because, as written, there would only be six legs to the spiders). And then the Buckbeak cable, which is kind of like a wide horseshoe cable, in the middle.
Here's a photo without flash, for those with brighter/paler monitor settings:
And the yarn.
First off, the Stitches N Stuff haul. Skein of Alpaca Sox in a pretty amber color (not sure what I will make; it was just pretty). Skein of Kureyon Sock for a little scarf thingie. And the Lustro for the Heliopath vest. I really, really like the color of the Lustro.
And the KnitPicks order. The plain grey is "lace" (more like fingering weight) Gloss for a Print O the Wave stole and the multi is Imagination in "Magic Wand" (Hm. I think I detect some Gryffindor influence there in the color scheme). I have 880 yards of it and am hoping to find a vest (preferably pullover) that will work for that amount.

You can always spot the non-knitters in the audience: they'll see "880 yards," and, as I did, they'll think, "Good Lord, that's half a mile!"
