I thought I'd complete the Mixtape quilt this weekend, but didn't quite get there. (Partly, the time change is throwing me off - I don't want to eat when it's time to eat, and I feel like it's the wrong time of day)
I have two rows left to put together and attach, and the borders to put on. I also found what I want to use as the backing and found that I had enough of it - it's a yellow print with lots of vintage style greeting postcards on it. The predominant other color is blue (there are lots of forget-me-nots and some bluebirds on it), but I think it will work. And it's the kind of print I'd rather use as a backing than all cut up into little pieces in a quilt.
Here's the quilt thus far:
I took the picture indoors as it's been chilly and rainy and gray out again, and I didn't feel like going out and maybe getting the top wet hanging it on the line.
Here's the backing. Even though the colors differ slightly from the top, I think it will work. (And I have the right-sized piece of it).
I also dug out and rearranged a few things; I want to start again on the blocks for what I am thinking of as the OM NOM NOM quilt (the star blocks with all the candy/cookie/cake prints) but I need to cut more of the white block backgrounds, so I found the big piece of white I was using for that. (Not all white fabrics are the same; there are "dyelots" and different shades of white, I've found. There are different "dyelots" even within the same color of Kona cotton....)
