Relating to everything

I suppose that's how my brain works - I see connections when there really aren't any. I used to say that "there's a quotation from The Simpsons that relates to every situation in life" (and by golly, there almost was).

Now that I live somewhere where they don't re-run the "classic" seasons daily (And I kind of burned out on the Simpsons a couple years ago when they had a few bitter-ish episodes), I don't do that any more.

But I find I increasingly do that with Ponies.

I did a review of the material for the final exam in one of my classes today. And I was talking about horse evolution* as an example of evolution, because I had seen this this morning:

my little pony, friendship is magic, brony - Pony Evolution
see more My Little Brony

(*And oh dang, I DID say horse, didn't I? I didn't slip and say Pony? I hope not. I didn't hear any snickering so I probably didn't.)

One quibble: Equus sapiens should be on the same level as the other two, Earth ponies are not extinct.

(And no, as tempting as it might be, I'd never have the guts to use this as an example in class. Also, it's possible there are other inaccuracies in the earlier part of the lineage; I'm not totally up on horse evolution)
