Annnnd.....we're done

Summer semester ended about half an hour ago when I posted my last set of grades. (A couple people earned Ds, but that's still technically passing...no Fs this go-round). And I think my review must have helped in the non-majors class; people generally did better on the final than they usually do. (I took about an hour and went over eeeeeevvvvvrrrrryyything (at least, the big topics) again, and showed how stuff linked up, like that the respiratory system was important because oxygen was necessary for cell respiration and stuff.

I have one last little bit of research-stuff to do. And to arrange for mail-holding and such.

Oh, how I need a break. If only it were going to be cooler where I am going but it looks like it is not.

(UPDATE: actually, it looks like it IS. Highs up there will be around 90 which will be at least 10 degrees cooler than here. That's really good. I hope it's correct. I'd like it to be even cooler but I'll settle for 10 degrees cooler....)

One good thing: checking around the various sources of Amtrak information, it looks like they're done with/have suspended for a while the trackwork between St. Louis and Bloomington - which means I get to ride the train the whole way, no messing about with buses in St. Louis and maybe-not-getting-breakfast.

I should photograph the Putney shawl again tonight and post the photo; it grew quite a bit during the exams. I think this is going to be a fast knit.

I also pulled out the long-stalled Alpenglow socks and started them again. And the pattern is beginning to make more sense to me and be fun again. So I'll probably take those along as well.
