The only other "finished" items from over break:
These are from the "Tiny Mochimochi" book by Anna Hrachovec. It's the "Easter bunny" pattern. I made it in three different weights of yarn, with different needle sizes. The biggest one is a chunky-bordering-on-bulky done with size 7s (US), the medium one is a heavy worsted on size 3s, and the tiny one is sockweight yarn (as originally intended in the pattern) on size 1s.
Here's the "baby" bunny again, with a quarter for scale:
They're not as hard to make as you might think. They're just small, and as a result, a little fiddly to get started.
Also, the pattern for the body alone - done in the right colors, and without any arms/legs/ears/face - would work as an Easter egg; it's about the right shape.
I envision making more "tiny" stuff once I sort through my sockyarn and see what plain solid colors I have (most of the sockyarn I own is of the variegated/self-striping variety). There's a cute garden gnome pattern in there but I have to see if I have a decent flesh-color. (I probably do, if I were to make African-American gnomes...). I also bought her new "Tiny Fantasy" patterns (this is a standalone pattern set, separate from the book), mainly because I wanted to make some Tiny Yeti....but there's also a Tiny Unicorn in there that's awfully cute. (And I could see how a person could, with a few little modifications, make an entire set of My Tiny Ponies. Hm. Maybe I need to make Tiny Derpy and hide her on a corner of my desk here at work)

No idea how many "bronies" knit, or how many knit socks, but a rough indication is that the "Craft Bronies" group on Ravelry currently has 236 members, and I don't think everyone on Rav who is a fan of the show belongs to that group. And I don't think all of the show fans who knit are on Ravelry. All I know is that a while back there was one of the striping colors of Felici I wanted, and I put off ordering it, and they ran out...they only print certain colors for a limited time, though some of them (like the Rainbow and the one they call "Time Traveler," which is an homage to the scarf of Doctor #4) they do reprint.

Well, maybe the "third thing" (the third communication problem) happened. I came in today to an e-mail from a student that asked me if I was "wanting" to fail them because of a high number of absences. (Standard professorial boilerplate: We don't fail students; they fail themselves. Their grades are based on points earned.) Apparently they took my forgetting to do something (which affected the entire class) as being aimed at them.
Luckily, as I said on Twitter, I always wear my Big Girl Panties, so I was able to respond calmly and not rise to the bait of the accusation, but still. Too darn early in the morning to deal with that kind of thing.
