All the tiny plants are harvested, the roots washed clean of soil (sitting with your hands in water - even comfortably warm water - off and on for six hours is not fun), separated into root and shoot and placed in the drying oven.

Unfortunately, working alone in a lab, doing a task that takes more physical than mental presence, is not a good cure for The Sad. Especially if you're a type already given to broodiness.

Oh well, it is Laundry Night tonight, and I am going to change the sheets on my bed.

(And I am apparently not the only one who has Thursday as Laundry Night - one of my students walked in dressed differently than normal today, one of the others commented on it, and he shrugged and said, "It's Laundry Night." And then one of the women laughed and said tonight was Laundry Night for her, too. I like this class; they all seem to be very congenial with each other.)

Thursday is often laundry night here too. It means you have clean clothes for the upcoming week but haven't tied up your weekend when, hopefully, there is some social or fun stuff on your calendar.

plLaundry is Saturday here - but so is the rest of the house cleaning so it doesn't interfere much with the routine. It's just such a short process in summer and it takes so long in winter. No dryer.

I'm sorry you haz a sad - hope it meltz soon.
