Well, I don't know what to think. That crown preparation I had done last Wednesday? Still kind of hurts. It's a throbbing pain and while it's not constant, it's sort of unpredictable...tylenol will knock it out for a while, ibuprofen will knock it out for longer. Or maybe it's just that it's on some kind of weird 20 minutes on/40 minutes off cycle; I don't know.

Of course, turning to the Internets for advice is not a smart move. The Internets told me "You will probably need a root canal to fix it." Thanks, Internets, thanks a lot. Just what I didn't want to hear.

As I said, I don't know - I have a LOT of sinus problems and the way this feels it could almost be an outraged sinus ("How DARE you mess around so close to me") instead of the tooth dying or some other horrific thing. I don't THINK it's infected; I don't THINK that the temporary crown is ill-fitted.

It's also hot, humid, high pressure here - all things that combine to make me more irritable (in both the physical and emotional senses).

So I'm hoping it's just "normal" discomfort and not something worse but I think if it gets worse - or if a week passes with no improvement - I will have to go back to the dentist and see what he thinks.

they put in a temporary crown that had me miserable for a week. they had to give me a new temp crown until the regular one was finished. maybe that's the issue?
