Five of those (FIVE) were things I actually wanted to read, including a couple comment notifications.

I guess it's time to contemplate adding to the filters. I hate filtering too strictly because when I had my work-filter set very high, I actually missed getting notification of an article acceptance because somehow the combinations I had in the "rule" filtered that message out.
