Thanks Lydia and Lynn. My last two SSN digits are roughly midway through the scale, so I suppose "the check is in the mail" as they say. (And, yes, I'll be getting something. Not the full $600 quite, but certainly enough for a shiny new digital camera. And perhaps some yarn. Or all the embroidery floss my heart could possibly desire from the beautiful revolving rack of it in my Local Quilt Shop.

I've actually gone full circle on this. When they first came out with the idea of the checks, I was all What A Bad Idea. And then I was all They Want Us To Spend It So I Will Be Contrarian And Put It In My Savings Account. Then I realized the ratio of interest paid to inflation levels, divided by lack of recent spend-y fun in my life, and changed my mind - so I'm going to do what they "want" us to do, and enrich someone with my not-quite-$600. Or more likely several someones, probably most of them local small business owners. Which probably isn't all that bad after all.)
